James 5: 16 - "Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed.  The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much." 

Observe

The need for us to confess our sins to those who we are close with in the church.  To pray for each other.  That prayer can accomplish a great deal if we have faith and strive to live in a Godly way.

Apply

Three vital things for our lives, and Christian walk - 1) The need for close relationships to help you grow and stay accountable.  This is why we emphasize our Bellwether groups.  We need each other, and we need people who will keep us on track.  2) The need for us to repent our sins to those whom we have close relationships with.  Repentance is a big deal.  We need relationships where we feel comfortable confessing.  3) Finally, and most importantly in my mind - prayer.  We underestimate the power of prayer - in our lives, and our churches.  The effective prayer of righteous people can change the world.  Seriously.  We need to be about prayer and be in prayer.

Prayer

Dear Lord, grow us into prayer warriors, where we believe and witness the power of prayer in our lives.  Help us encourage one another to pray and be in relationships with people whom we can pray with, and who will hold us accountable.  As a church body, help us to live by faith and prayer.
