2 Peter 3: 8-9 - "But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day.  The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."

Observe

With the Lord, one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day.  The Lord is patient towards all of us, wishing all would come to repentance.  

Apply

How can we ever fathom the mind of God?!  When to Him a day is like a thousand years and vice versa.  What is even more amazing though, is that God, in all His greatness, is so patient and loving with us.  He wants all to come to repentance.  In our own lives, we should follow His lead with patience and love to those who don't know Him - to help them see the patience and love of their Heavenly Father.

Prayer

Dear Lord, all of us have people we'd like to give up on.  Give us your supernatural patience and love - never giving up and hoping all would come to know repentance.  

Thank you for your patience and love towards us, even while we are sinners.  Thank you for never giving up.
